Building Brighter Futures for Children and Adults with Autism and their Families

Help us reach the finish line to create a Wonderful World of Abilities!

Easterseals MORC is embarking on an $8.2 million capital campaign to build a 16,900 sq. ft., state-of-the art Autism Comprehensive Care Center in Waterford, MI.

The brand-new Autism Comprehensive Care Center in Waterford is complete! This new center will offer comprehensive care improving the quality for the 900 children with autism currently served, while increasing capacity for thousands of children with autism and their families throughout Southeast Michigan. The building will be customized in every way to support the needs of individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

Offering a family-centered approach that will provide a personal concierge to each family for a personalized experience tailored to meet their specific needs and care. The new center will also feature a “one-stop-shop” model that includes holistic services under one roof to alleviate the burden of seeking needed services from multiple providers.

The Autism Comprehensive Care Center will not only expand services but will also take a groundbreaking approach to integrate behavioral health services with traditional autism services. It will also offer wrap-around supports such as occupational and speech therapy, life skills training, support groups, and mental health services for both the individual with autism and their entire family.

At Easterseals MORC, we believe in the abilities and infinite possibilities in every person we serve. Our goal is to help individuals with autism build independence, confidence, and meaningful connections within their communities!

Meet Joey!

In 2020, Joey and his family came to Easterseals MORC after a friend of his mother, Jennifer, recommended the services that Easterseals MORC provides. Joey, is on the autism spectrum. He receives speech and language therapies, along with autism services, at Easterseals MORC. He is also a very active participant at the Miracle League!

“We had to try a couple different places for hair salons and dentists as well as various tactics to make my son comfortable. These mock experiences [at the new Center] would be really terrific for families!

-- Jennifer Lopiccola, Joey's mom

Meet the Richey's!

Jon and Becky, and their two adult children, Hannah and Jacob, say they don't let challenges stop them from making memories and having fun as a family. Hannah and Jacob both receive Community Living Support (CLS) and Respite services at Easterseals MORC. CLS has helped Jacob to reach goals relating to safety, socialization, and money skills. This past spring (2025), Jacob graduated from Clarkston High School's Adult Transition Program. He also volunteers at Clarkston Family Farm multiple times a week. Hannah is the founder and CEO behind Hannah Joy Spectrum Designs. CLS has helped Hannah grow as a person sharpening her people skills and gaining tools to help her run her business. Since starting her business, Hannah has learned more about managing a business, personal finance, community services, and has met many new people along the way.

“Respite care for our children has allowed us to be parents and not caregivers 24/7,” Becky said. “The services and support we have received from Easterseals MORC has allowed Jon (my husband) and I to nurture our marriage, take care of ourselves, and spend quality time with our children. Additionally, services have also given our children the opportunity to become awesome humans!”
