Over The Edge is an exciting, high-adrenaline urban rappelling experience you won’t want to miss! Take on the thrill of descending the side of the iconic Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, standing tall at 318 feet as the tallest hotel in Grand Rapids.
Join us downtown for an unforgettable day of adventure—whether you’re rappelling down the tower or cheering from the ground, there’s fun for everyone. Plus, with ArtPrize happening at the same time, you’ll be surrounded by incredible art, energy, and entertainment throughout the city.
All proceeds from Over The Edge benefit Easterseals MORC, supporting vital programs and services right here in West Michigan. Your participation and donations help advance our mission to ensure that everyone—regardless of age or ability—is fully included, empowered, and able to thrive.

When you hit your $1,000 fundraising goal you get:

Once you register, you can create your own fundraising page and personalize it with your photo. Once you create your page, share the link through email and/or on social media to let friends and family know you are going Over the Edge.
This year's Over the Edge event will take place on
Saturday, September 19, 2026, 9:30 am - 4:30pm
Media/VIP event: Friday, September 18, 2026 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Amway Grand Plaza Hotel is located at: 187 Monroe Avenue NW Grand Rapids, MI 49503
Rappelling will take place on the river side of the tower
*Please note, there are several flights of stairs, and a vertical ladder to climb to reach the roof access.
*Weather policy - In the event of severe weather conditions—such as high winds or heavy rainfall that significantly reduces visibility or creates unsafe conditions—a weather-related delay will be implemented. Activities will remain suspended until conditions improve to a safe level.
Additionally, in the event of severe, inclement weather that does not clear, the event may have to be cancelled, and donations to the charity are non-refundable.
